Lighted Yard Ramp – A practical safety feature design by Brazos Manufacturing
Many times when using a mobile yard ramp, work must stop at sunset. Well, not any more. Here is our Safety Lighted Ramp!
We at Brazos Manufacturing have worked to develop a compact answer to lighting the path on our yard ramps. Meet the Brazos “Safety Lighted Ramp” (US Patent Pending). When installed it’s DC powered LED lighting pattern allows the equipment operator to know exactly where he is. Even with a high load in front of him on the forklift he can see the lights as they illuminate his path.
Increase Lighting Means Increased Safety with our Lighted Ramp
Because the ramp section of a Brazos yard ramp is made from steel bar grating, the light that illuminates the ramp path also spills out over much of the work site. It not only makes the position of the forklift easy to control but makes everyone more aware of the total worksite.
Many times a forklift operator’s forward vision is obscured by his load. He will jockey in his or her seat to peek around to inch towards the trailer or dock. The LED lighting pattern serves as a perfect path marker and takes much risk out of the work. It can make going faster….safer.
Powered by a 12V “marine” battery, these low power consumption LED lights easily work all night. The same electrical system can be used to power the “up and down” function of the optional Power Legs package.
Notice that is a full size Pickup Truck shown in this photo. The ramp pictured here is 84″ wide overall. While you can see by turning on the truck lights, that really doesn’t help as you work you way up or down the ramp. Looking straight down at the edge lighting provided by the ramp ensures a safe trip – up or down.
Lighting Element for the yard ramp equipment is placed between the bar grating and the side of the yard ramp. This allows the lighting to sit 1” below the traffic lane and is protected from contact with vehicles under normal operating conditions.
